The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the 2002 World Series Champions, play in the American League Western Division of Major League Baseball. Located in Anaheim, California, the Angels play in Angel Stadium. Led by All Stars Vladimir Guerrero, Garret Anderson, and Bartolo Colón, the Angels have battled their rivals the Oakland A's and surprising Texas Rangers in 2004 and remain in contention for the AL West Crown.

The Angels franchise began play in 1961 as the Los Angeles Angels. Playing to a record of 70-91 in their first season, the L.A. Angels netted the best winning percentage of any expansion team in Major League Baseball history at .435. By 1966, the L.A. Angels moved to the city of Anaheim and became the California Angels. That moniker lasted until 1997 when the Angels were renamed the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Angel Stadium - Home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Constructed in time for the 1966 season, Angel Stadium hosted the Los Angeles Angels as Anaheim Stadium with a capacity of 43,204. When the Los Angeles Rams became a tenant of Anaheim, Anaheim Stadium underwent expansion to a capacity of 65,158. When the Rams moved to St. Louis in 1995, the home of the Angels was left as a baseball only venue. Therefore ownership decided to convert the 30 year old venue back into a baseball only stadium. Renovation was complete by 1997.

Angel Stadium seats 40,950 fans and resides at 2000 Gene Autry Way Anaheim, California 92806. The stadium features a natural grass playing surface.
